The CW400 carries 400 g of 750 fill power goose down for three-season warmth under a kilogram. It is cut as a mummy across the shoulders where you want the warmth, and rectangular at the feet where you want to move, so you are not choosing between the two. A mesh storage sack is included alongside the stuff sack, because down loses loft permanently if it is stored compressed.
Best for
Hiking and backpacking in three-season conditions, and anyone who finds a full mummy bag too restrictive at the feet.
Not ideal for
Deep winter, and sustained wet conditions where a synthetic bag keeps insulating once damp and down does not.
