Sleeping off the ground keeps you clear of insects, damp and cold rising from below. The XJC04 uses a lever locking system to tension the deck, which is the part most camp stretchers make difficult, and a 7075 aluminium frame, the strongest of the common alloys.
Best for
Car camping and base camps, where sleeping off the ground and setting up quickly both matter.
Not ideal for
Hiking or backpacking. At 2.2 kg and packing to 53 cm this travels in a vehicle.
