The R5.8 Ultralight Sleeping Pad Mummy carries an R-value of 5.8 at 410 g, which is winter-level ground insulation at a weight most three-season pads cannot match. The 8 cm profile lifts you clear of frozen or stony ground, and the mummy taper cuts material where you do not need it.
Best for
Cold-weather and winter backpacking, where insulation from the ground matters as much as the sleeping bag.
Not ideal for
Warm summer nights, where the R3.5 or the Fish Bone give enough insulation for less outlay.
