420 stainless steel is a hardenable grade, which means these pegs take repeated hammering into stony ground without bending the way softer pegs do. Three lengths from 20 to 30 cm, with a 12 mm shaft on the longer two.
Best for
Hard, stony and compacted ground where lighter pegs bend or fail, and long guy lines that take wind load.
Not ideal for
Backpacking, where the aluminium pegs supplied with our ultralight tents weigh a fraction of these. Long-term exposure to salt air will also mark 420 stainless, so rinse and dry them after coastal trips.
