A 75 litre pack for trips where you are living out of it. Two aviation-grade aluminium stays carry the load and transfer it onto your hips, and the back panel adjusts in height so the pack sits on your own back rather than a generic one. A rescue whistle is built into the sternum strap and there is reflective webbing front and back.
Best for Five to eight night hikes, and shorter winter trips where bulkier kit fills the same volume faster.
Not ideal for Loads over about 14 kg, which is where this frame stops carrying comfortably. Also not worth it for shorter trips, since a large pack half full carries worse than a smaller one packed properly.
Additional features - CR carrying system with breathable mesh shoulder straps and thick foam padding - Rescue whistle on the sternum strap and reflective webbing front and rear - Hydration compatible, with the hose routed to the front shoulder - External straps for trekking poles, sleeping mats and a sleeping bag - Rain cover stowed in a base pocket, YKK zips and YNS buckles throughout
Getting the fit right
Torso length is not the same as your height, and it matters more than anything else for how a pack carries. Feel for the bony bump at the base of your neck where it meets your shoulders, then place your hands on your hips with thumbs pointing back until they meet at the top of your hip bones. Measure along your spine between those two points.
If you are between packs or unsure whether the adjustment will suit your torso, contact our team before ordering and we will check against a unit in stock.

I used the pack for the first time on a multi-day hike in Magoebaskloof. It mainly performed as expected. I would have preferred for the padding on the hip belt to be about 5cm longer as the pack did slip down with the result that the weight landed on the shoulders. But, overall, a good product. I am happy with the purchase.
The 70 + 5L Naturehike Backpack proved to be the perfect choice for hiking the Fish River Canyon. Our group was among those evacuated by helicopter during the June 2026 Fish River Canyon floods, and throughout the experience, this backpack performed beyond expectations. It was comfortable, durable, and reliable under extremely challenging conditions, making it an outstanding choice for demanding multi-day hikes.
It is a really tood bag. Took some time to get used to. The straps hurt the top of my shoulders a bit, but that's part of it!
All I wished for was a few extra bags outside for quick access of snacks etc. I had to open the entire bag if I needed something.
Poor quality and service
Bought the discovery 70L hiking backpack used it twice and after a combined 12km of use, hip belt buckle broke, the hip support is not suited for people with waist bigger than mens 32 waist. Bag is extremely uncomfortable. Custoner service is also not great was told that I need to repair it myself even though the bag is still under 1 year warranty.

Very comfortable bag that has the perfect balance between space and design. I especially enjoy the stretch pocket on the back, which is easily accessible and secure. I recommend this pack for longer multi day hikes. Service and delivery was great via the online purchasing platform.

Got this for my first hiking bag. Very happy, great size and comfort. Was able to collect as I was in a hurry to get it. Used it for 2 hikes since I got it and can't wait for my next one.

Awesome bag, very light and lots of attachment points for additional gear. Hip belt is nice and wide allowing weight to distribute making the bag very comfortable. Only complaint in the hip belt buckle is very poor quality and snapped on my first trip. Having no hips means the hip belt needs to be tightened a lot and a better quality buckle is required. I have resorted to using a carabiner as a temporary solution.
