Customer photo review of Mongar 20D Ultralight 2P Tent

Ladies and gentlemen Stop your looking and start your buying. This is the Nokia 3310 of tents. My husband and I bought this tent to backpack through South America for 5 months. It’s really lightweight and wouldn’t take us more than 2 minutes to assemble and dissemble. It withstood rain and wind (that being said, we didn’t ever camp in torrential downpour) - but it kept us bone dry in heavy, day-long rain. It also withstood Patagonian windstorms with the help of some rocks placed on the pegs. The fly sheet does not touch the inner tent which makes all the difference in managing condensation and moisture. The two vestibules were great for storing our 60l backpacks when the ground was dry outside. When it was wet - we popped them at the bottom of the tent and still slept comfortably (I’m 175cm and my husband 184cm) I genuinely can’t hype this tent enough. Just buy it. Thanks Naturehike!

Customer photo review of Mongar 20D Ultralight 2P Tent

Great tent. Very easy and quick to erect. Only thing I'd change is the level that the netting starts at which I'd make at 1/3 height to limit airflow if it's to be used in a cold environment. If not, then the increased airflow is probably a blessing. Sturdy in wind. Went for this model over the Star River due to symmetry for better wind performance and two people being able to sit upright at opposite ends facing each other. If on your own there's enough space to sleep alongside a large backpack which is useful if the heavens open or if you're forced to pitch on wet ground. (4.5/5)

Mongar 20D Ultralight 2P Tent

Store owner replied: Thanks for your detailed and insightful review! We appreciate your feedback on the netting design and are glad the tent’s wind performance and space worked well for you. Your input helps us improve future models. Happy adventures!

Mongar 20D Ultralight 2P Tent

I initially ordered the Cloud up 210 and realised it was just going to be too small and so I requested a return. I cannot begin to explain just how amazing the team at Naturehike has been in not only facilitating the return, but getting My new order of the Mongar 2 20D sorted out! The tent is absolutely brilliant! It was a gift for My Son for our Motorcycle Camping trips. So happy with the tent that I immediately ordered the Mongar 2 Pro, which arrived the next day!!! Thanks wonderful people at Naturehike! What a fantastic company to deal with!!!!

Mongar 2 20D

Great tent! Easy to assemble and very light weight

Mongar 2 20D

Store owner replied: Thanks, Natalie! We're glad you're enjoying the Mongar 2. Happy adventures and thank you for the great review! ⛺😊

Perfect lightweight tent for two people looking for quality shelter without breaking the bank.

Mongar 20D Ultralight 2P Tent

Store owner replied: Thanks for the kind words, Joshua! Glad the weight worked in your favour. Quality matters and we are glad it shows. To many more memories out there! ⛺

Great tent for backpacking and hiking. The tent is ultralight weight and very water resistant. Use it to campaign at Golden Gate National park, in a week that had a lot of rainfall and i had no issues with water penetration. Overall great, light tent.

Mongar 20D Ultralight 2P Tent

Store owner replied: And that is why it is one of our best! Happy Hiking.

The tent is really nice. Easy to set up and plenty space for all by bike packing kit inside the tent. The only reason I'm giving four stars is that the fly sheet doesn't go all the way down to the ground. This would be great mid summer by I had a few cold nights and the breeze comes straight through. I'm going to have a light weight skirt added to the fly sheet that can be velcroed up during warm weather. This will certainly make it a full 5 start tent.

Store owner replied: Thanks for the feedback and great review, we will also pass this info on to our manufactures and see how we can upgrade our products.

Perfect tent for bike trips Bought this tent for solo bike (motorcycle) trips after having looked at options from Vango, First Ascent and even MSR. It's big enough to store gear like my helmet, jacket and pants inside the tent in case you need to do that. Vestibule large enough to cover soft luggage. One of the best feautures of this tent is that you can enter the tent from both sides (its symmetric). So you can reach stuff that's stored under the vestibule from insdie the tent without always having to climb over it as with tents that only have one entrance. The tent is high enough for me to sit in comfortably (I'm 179 cm tall). The tent is easy to set up and the materials seam to be of good quality. Easy to fold and roll up, and the bag is big enough so that you don't have to roll the tent as tight as cigarette to get it into the bag. Aluminium poles are the way to go, no more broken fibreglass poles! The overall attention to detail is great. I purchased the grey tent. To my eye it's not grey, it's more like a very light brown colour (like coffee with lots of milk in it :-)). The colour is practical. Happy with my purchase.

Review Tested my new tent in the Cederberg this past weekend and was very happy Easy to assemble. Condensation was low inside at below 0 temperatures. Lightweight

Mongar 20D Ultralight 2P Tent

Review This a great tent for a few reasons: - great weight for a two-man - symmetrical layout so very very quick to set up, I even tried it on my own.

Mongar 20D Ultralight 2P Tent

Review In August 2020 I purchased this Mongar 20D Ultralight 2 Person Tent. This was after extensive research on similar ultralight tents and on the build quality of Naturehike products. Nearly as light as the MSR and Black Diamond tents but half their prices; lighter than the First Ascent and K-Way; quality on a par with First-Ascent. I have used it in the Berg on a number of occasions, and it has met my expectations of holding up to strong winds, cold and heavy rain (20D is better than 15D!). Light enough for carrying solo up 2000m in a day, and roomy enough for two medium-sized hikers. BTW: as ultralight tents have lower ceilings, best to go for dual doors for easy wet-weather/night access. Vestibules big enough for 75L packs. The Y-pegs are strong. Recommend getting the optional groundsheet, which is light and tough, as it really helps to protect the tent floor; as well as allowing you to pitch the flysheet in the rain, hence keeping the inner tent dry. Good online support from Naturehike's SA staff.

Mongar 20D Ultralight 2P Tent

Review I have used this tent on many multi day hiking trips in the Western Cape winter and would thoroughly recommend it. The attention to detail and ease of setup is world class.

Mongar 20D Ultralight 2P Tent

Review Very impressed with the Mongar 2. Super tent for motorcycle camping. Had heavy rain on first night of camping and not a drop got in. Very good ventilation, so no condensation.

Mongar 20D Ultralight 2P Tent

Review I did a fair amount of research on a few high end tents, before I went with the Mongar 20D. I was extremely impressed with how quickly my order arrived. I never had time to open the tent up before my trip so just packed it and headed to the mountains. I arrived at my camp side it the dark and I found the initial set up a little tricky as it is very different to all the other tents I have owned. I went onto utube and saw how easy the set up actually is. I found the tent to be very comfortable with more space than any two man tent I have used. The overall quality, thought and detail put into making this tent is amazing and I am very happy I went with it over many other way more expensive options on the market. Great job guys.

Mongar 20D Ultralight 2P Tent

Review 5 star for quality service and communication. I am only able to review this product in July once I return from my 8 day hike. However, opening the package reveals a quality product that is super light and I am looking forward to using my tent.

Mongar 20D Ultralight 2P Tent

Review I used this tent on a fantastic hike in Kruger park and would highly recommend it although I would not say it can accommodate two people and all of their gear very easily.

Mongar 20D Ultralight 2P Tent

Review I used this tent on a 6 day hike through the Cederberg recently. It is a pleasure to set up and quite spacious (although I am not tall & was sharing with my daughter!). We had a couple of nights of below freezing temps and I was cold, but I could probably do with a warmer sleeping bag. Over all I am thrilled with this tent :)

Mongar 20D Ultralight 2P Tent

Review Almost as good as most reviews claim. I took a close look at all the seems and stitching and certainly not as neat or strong as more expensive tents. I did have to clean up some of the loose threads by melting them.

Mongar 20D Ultralight 2P Tent

Review All round excellence. Lightweight tent, quick and easy set up, generous-sized bag for packing tent away, and efficient service from Naturehike for all purchases. Thanks very much Kobus and team.

Mongar 20D Ultralight 2P Tent

Review Very good purchase and speedily delivery. I bought the tent and the vestibule extension, very much worth while. It would be great if the manufacturer supplied one extra tent peg: The extension comes with 4 pegs, however it needs 5.

Mongar 20D Ultralight 2P Tent

Review I borrowed a friend's tent over the Easter weekend. My partner and I could comfortably rest in it and use each entrance to pack out backpacks. The new one I just received has a ground sheet and a storage net above in the tent. We pitched it this weekend at home and really love the quick set up. Will recommend it for anyone wanting a 2-man tent. Can't wait to use it later in Cederberg. The service was awesome. Got a call from Kobus to confirm my original choice of the Cloud Up2, expressed my reservations and was assured I could think about it for a bit longer. Made up my mind 2 days later and bought the Mongar.

Mongar 20D Ultralight 2P Tent

Review Awesome tent - super easy setup and light weight - excellent clipping mechanisms for the poles to attach to tent and flysheet, stakes are great too (and great that spares are sold too). The supplied matt helps protect the tent on the ground, but also doubles as a clean packing area to sort your bag/kit. Used for 3 nights so far - would definitely recommend!

Mongar 20D Ultralight 2P Tent

Review Very happy with the quality and light weight, it really does take less than 5 min to set up. Also very impressed with the progress updates and next day delivery.

Mongar 20D Ultralight 2P Tent

Review Great service. Tent look very well made and is a super design. I guess you have to pay triple this price to get five stars.

Mongar 20D Ultralight 2P Tent

Review Very happy with it, I have only pitched it in the garden so far but it's as I expected. I guess it may get a bit cold in winter as the flysheet seems to stop a bit short of the ground.Time will tell. Delivery Service/updates were excellent and the small extra was a great surprise . Thank you.

Mongar 20D Ultralight 2P Tent

Review Bought this for the otter trail and it was exactly what we needed; light but spacious and versatile, quick to put up and take down. With it being so light, the material is obviously quite thin but the build quality seems great and had no issues so far. Great product and customer service. I would definitely recommend.

Mongar 20D Ultralight 2P Tent

Review The service I received was excellent. The Mongar 20D is an excellent lightweight tent that is easy to setup and disassemble. I am more than thrilled with the tent so far.

Mongar 20D Ultralight 2P Tent

Review Awesome Tent packs down small and light, big enough for two or myself and gear iv pair this with the FC-11 Ultralight Prismatic Double Inflatable Pad, for a comfortably setup.

Mongar 20D Ultralight 2P Tent

Magnificent Mongar This tent is simply brilliant. It is strong and sturdy; with two generous bells it has ample space for two people and all of their gear; and yet it still comes in at under 2kg! Amazing! A must have for any pair heading out into the elements, yet still very manageable for solo missions.
